Arts Fest 2

Ever since I spent 20 years in New Mexico living around entrepreneurial

artisans, I have preferred to buy my Christmas presents from such folk. When

we moved to Lawrence, KS I had no idea that there are actually MORE and

BETTER artisans living here. I was pleasantly surprised.

Lawrence Arts Fest

Every year the Lawrence locals arts group hosts an arts fair where

individual craftsmen and women of all ilks sell their self-made ceramics and

paintings and jewelry and everything else. We got most of our Christmas

shopping done that day.

East Indian Music

These two were entertaining in the basement at the art fair in Lawrence last

Saturday.

Lone Pine

The farm which was my childhood home, and that which is now the place where

my sister has raised an excellent family, was called Lone Pine Farm, and is

now called Lone Pine Hunting Preserve. This tree is the "lone pine." Alas

she will not be ever green, and is mostly brown now. The eponymous pine will

need to come down soon I'm sure. I just hope we plant another at or near

this spot.

earthtones, were the red and blue pulsations emanating from the roof of this

state trooper's car along Hiway 75.
